I've done the warrior dash (with 1 friend) and had a pretty good time -but you're right, it's basically a party. I'm not sure I'd do it again, but it was fun to do once.

great ideas and advice on time vs money savings... we tend to forget when your busy your time is an valid thing to Save. you Are being Frugal if you save time on regualr things ifits relitive to how you live and work.
I did wonder if perhaps when you get more established you could get together with some friends and rent/use a car to buy once everyso often those heavy things? but plan it as first an outing some place nice.. then do a shop on the way back? as for storage.. which seems to be a big issue in the city, what about making some table or bench into a pantry? use the space underneath to stack cans/food in tubs?
you can also grow your own vegis in pots for on the spot convienece (but this may be hard to get the soil etc).
thank you for a great place to hash out spacesaving & living ideas.

I've been in a few "unenjoyable-at-the-time" races and decided they are not worth the money. Still, I keep signing up for them because I have a hard time saying no to friends. Ragnar (http://www.ragnarrelay.com/) was not particularly physically challenging, but was not fun because of lack of sleep and having to spend a weekend with 7 people in a van. Not worth $200+. I also did a half marathon in 90F heat and they ran out of water. I thought about running home around mile 6 because I was miserable but decided to finish the race. My reward was all night throwing up from dehydration. Also not worth it. I'd like to do Tough Mudder, but would probably only sign up if I had a free bib.

That’s pretty sad. What a legacy to leave. Used to be (in my grandparents generation) you didn’t have any debt period, except for maybe a mortgage. They didn’t have car loans or anything like that. They saved up and they bought in cash. When the retired, and even after they died, they didn’t have a lot, but one thing they didn’t have is debt. What an awful mess to leave behind by those who are actually accumulating debt not caring what happens after they leave this world.

I am not sure about freezing the dough itself but you can freeze the actual loaf after it is baked. It will last in the freezer for a few months. You can definitely keep the dough in the fridge for a few days in the loaf pan. I have left it in there for 24 hours without any problems. I imagine, several days would be just fine!

I don't do my own laundry. I drop it off at a laundromat that offers wash & fold service. For the time it saves, the expense evens out. This also means I don't have to purchase laundry supplies.

Questions about the dough (making it last longer).
Could you make the dough and freeze it for use another day?
Could you keep the dough in the fridge for 3-4 days, then use it, since it's refrigerator dough?

I am on a strict budget and I find myself saving money by constantly checking City Maps. Sometimes I have to go to a couple different stores to get the deal, but if they are on my way, what's the difference.
